11 Sept 2022 Heritage open day!

Salt House – Law court – Sorbian museum

The slogan for the day of open monument is “KulturSpur. Ein Fall für den Denkmalschutz” (english cultural marks. A case for the protection of ancient monuments) this year. Entry free at the Sorbian museum!

Come and find out about the history of the museum building! It was already built in 1782 and was used as Salt House first. Then it was turned into a court in 1869. Since the 1970ies, the Sorbian museum is located here. Therefore it was renovated during the 1980ies. Have a look at our hall, past law court, if you still can see the neoclassical wall paintings. What other cultural marks or historical traces can you discover at the Sorbian museum?
