Appointement changes during the theatre season
Due to this years open air summer-theatre season there will be some changes, concerning the opening times. In this regard we would like to point out especially, that the Serbski muzej will not be part of these years Lange Nacht der Kultur (Long night of culture) June the 11nth. The irregular opening times are also mentioned in the calendre-function on this site.
For the nonmentioned dates the regular opening times are valid as to be seen on this site.

Guest exhibtion in Denmark
Coming, the month of may, the Serbski muzej hast he honour to present a guest exhibition about the theme oft he Sorbs/Wends and their culture in the danish town of Sonderburg or Sønderborg. It will be displayed in a special place, namely the Museum of the German Northern Schleswigers. The association of German North-Schleswigers has declared 2016 as their Sorbian Theme year.
So we take pride to display or exhibtion „Small folk. Abundant culture.“, which stresses the contemporary cultural life of Sorbs.

The Sorbian museum is sponsored by the foundation for the Sorbian people (Stiftung für das sorbische Volk), which annually grant benefits because of tax money based on the financial household decided by deputies of the parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, the state parliament of Brandenburg (Landtag Brandenburg) and the state parliament of Saxony (Landtag Sachsen). The museum is also supported by the administrative district Bautzen (Landkreis Bautzen) and the cultural area Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia (Kulturraum Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien). The Sorbian museum is an institution of the administrative district Bautzen.
